I am a slacker in the Web World... but the real world I have been rather BUSY.

I am moving.

We are no longer basement apartment dwellers. When Bryce and I first married we managed a bed and breakfast and lived in the basement. I have nothing but fond memories of that little apartment. As my Bryce and I set up the rooms for the guests we would put cold sparkling drinks in each room and flirt and chase each other around the Mansion. Sometimes when no guests were there we would dwell upstairs and turn the fire place on and pretend we were Mr. and Mrs. Hines (it was called the Hines Mansion Bed & Breakfast) and play checkers in the front room. I loved that place. Then we moved to Bryce's Parents basement apartment to save $$. And we did. That is why we are moving. And I am so excited!!!!

No more footsteps above our heads, and window wells.

The house was built in 1944, is white with blue shutters, and has grape vines in the back yard. There is room for a herb garden and the house has wood floors through out.

Here are some ideas I have for decorating.
I like these wall papers

and I like this area rug because it tells a story
I love love love this couch

I like this wall

I like these pillows too.....

Of course these things are on my wish list. The rug however is from that dang cute store called Anthropologie, I believe it was around 1000 u.s. dollars. But I might find something close to it for less? Who knows. Doing the decor of a house is very satisfying and it's fun to make a house into a home. I love things that brighten and beautify. Moving here we come!

  1. soooooo can't wait to come and let the boys destroy pumpkins in the back:-) i want to cook with you SO badly, i can hardly stand it. sean is off all week, but next week or the week after will work. i think you should do all of those wallpapers, one in each room. and then you can come decorate my house. you know me, i get into plain paint and straight line funks;-) a spicy pillow here or there would be a nice addition!

  2. Beth I am so excited for you! I can just imagine walking into your perfectly decorated home. I love what you have so far, and I just know if you want something bad enough you'll get it...or a fabulous knock off! Good Luck. Let me know if you need help!! I would be there shortly. 801-885-8163

  3. Beth, how exciting!! I love all of your choices. Your home will be beautiful!

  4. P.S. I especially LOVE the couch.

  5. I love it! I hope moving has been going good. I wish I could go all out and decorate our place but renting has it's limits. Maybe while we're up in Utah for Thanksgiving we can stop by and see your sweet place.

  6. I am so excited for you guys! It is so fun to have your own home! Especially knowing that know one can hear anything that is going on in the house whether wonderful or not so wonderful :)

  7. Check Home Decorators ( They often have great-looking rugs for less.

  8. It is always exciting to move and do all that fun stuff! The bed and breakfast sounds super cute and fun, that would have been a fun way to make and save money! It is always fun reading your blogs!

  9. Hey Beth! This is Stephanie Fogleman, Stacy's Sister! I was just looking through your blog, and think it is so cute, not to mention the adorable son you have! I was reading the blog about Smith having Hypotonia. Any way, I am majoring in public health and I am in an infectious disease class, We recently learned about something called Infant Botulism, which has very similar symptoms and actually causes Hypotonia, and was just wondering if smith had ever been tested for that? I am sure you already knew this, but it just struck out in my mind and made me remember your cute little smith! Hope you are doing well

  10. I CAN'T WAIT! WE ARE GOING TO BE NEIGHBORS! HURRAY! You are going to decorate your house fabulously and I am so excited to see it come together. I love the pics of your ideas. I have a feeling our addiction to cooking is going to get worse by the day with us living next to each other. Let us know when you are moving in, maybe Graham can come and help for a bit. LOVE YOU!
